Note that the campus Cisco AnyConnect VPN is decommissioned as of July 1, 2020. If you were using this VPN, you will need to install the GlobalProtect VPN. For Mac users The University at Buffalo offers a Virtual Private Network (VPN) service. The VPN service allows you to establish an encrypted tunnel between your computer and UB's VPN server. Most of the Libraries' databases use an IP authentication method and VPN will interfere with the EZproxy authentication process. Please review the library's blog post for full information. Off-campus access to eResources: restricted to UF students, faculty, and staff UF Libraries purchase special licenses for electronic items such as eJournals and articles, eBooks, databases, and other digitally available materials, so off-campus access to these materials is limited to the students, faculty, and staff of the University of Florida.

The first time you connect type go.vpn.gwu.edu into the box, then click Connect. Login to VPN with your GW NetID and password (the same login/password that you use for your GWMail or CMail). Users from the West Los Angeles VA need to use the VPN client to access library resources from off-campus. The VA national network does not allow proxy server access. Other Internet applications, such as FTP or SSH, to external services will not function until the Library VPN is disconnected.
